Sykli Fest: Festival of Ukranian contemporary dance at Liikelaituri in November!
16.9.2026
Sykli Fest brings Ukrainian dance artists to Liikelaituri on four fridays in November!
Fridays in November 2026 are pulsating emotion to November darkness, when an assemblage of Ukranian artists bring their performances to Liikelaituri. Series of events taking place in 6.11.-27.11.2026 form Sykli Fest, bringing unprecedented repertoire of Ukranian dance theatre to Tampere!
Sykli Fest has gained it’s name from the theme connecting artworks selected for the festival: Humanity and history is cyclical, continuous and born-again – in iniquity, but especially in beauty and in goodness. Through different motifs these performances show the ways we as humans circle ourselves and circle eachother. These works of art are portrayals of community, vigor, love and uncertainty: How to build everyday life and live in the mundane in a world that is constantly shuddering under uncertainty? Sykli Fest is a collection of performances, which display the ways to stay human – even when facing the inhumane. Artworks seen at Sykli Fest have been curated by Ukrainian dance artist Maria Martos.
