Sykli Fest: CYCLE

CYCLE is a physical monodrama which explores explores the inner and outer worlds of human beings. It raises questions of honesty and, at the same time, the acceptance of life’s various facets — gains and losses, joys and sorrows, life and death — and the cyclical nature of change. It is about embracing the complex and unfathomable depth of life and the challenges it presents.
“Cyclicality is a natural process of change and repetition, of endings and beginnings. And therein lies the law of existence—constant, yet predictable change. Humans are witnesses to this cyclicality—the whirlwind of changes in the inner world of thoughts, feelings, and states of mind, as well as in the turbulent events of the external world. How should we respond? What is our light, and what is our shadow?”
In CYCLE, light is an active participant with music that tells a story and plays with time. Its movement works with volume, from a single point to boundless space. CYCLE does not have a final form, but it is born anew every time it is performed. CYCLE was created in collaboration and is a result of joint research onthe themes of cycle and repetition, the physical laws of nature and light and the inner world of the human being. This research involved discussions, essay writing, scriptwriting, improvisational sketches and original music created in collaboration with dance.
Duration of the performance is 40 minutes.

About the artists
Glib Zelgin and Iryna Tychyna are independent artists who have been collaborating since 2024. Since they began working together, Glib and Iryna have been developing their own methodology called “SŌURCE” exploring the starting point of movement and ways of creation. In 2025, work began on CYCLE and it was premiered in Kyiv in December of the same year.

Choreographer, director, dancer, theatre troupe dancer, curator and performer, founder of the artistic association MŌN, trainer in «Laboratory of cultural transformation» Goethe Institute Ukraine
Iryna Tychyna
Performer, actress, dancer, movement researcher and coach. Her experience includes participation in performances, poetry readings, filming of video poetry, and directing and participation in dance films.

Accessibility
The studio Liikelaituri is located at Yliopistonkatu 58 D, 1 krs, 33100 Tampere. Accessible entrance from Pinninkatu at the address Pinninkatu 55 A. At the gate entrance, the door is on the right at 58 D, from where access to the 1st floor is via elevator. Please note that Liikelaituri does not have a lobby or refreshments service. Accessible access to the space can be arranged.

CYCLE — це фізична монодрама, що досліджує внутрішній і зовнішній світи людини. Вистава порушує питання чесності та водночас прийняття різних граней прояву життя: здобутків і втрат, радощів і смутку, життя і смерті, а також циклічної природи змін. Це розповідь про прийняття складної і неосяжної глибини життя та викликів, які воно ставить перед нами.
“Циклічність — це природний процес змін і повторів, закінчення і початку. І в цьому закон буття — постійної, проте передбачуваної зміни. Людина є очевидцем циклічності – коловерті змін внутрішнього світу думок, почуттів, станів так і зовнішніх турбулентних подій. Як нам бути? Що є наше світло, а що є наша тінь?”
У виставі CYCLE світло, як і музика, стає активним учасником дійства: воно розповідає історію та взаємодіє з часом. Рух світла варіюється за обсягом: від однієї точки до безмежного простору.
CYCLE не має фіксованої форми — вона щоразу народжується наново під час виконання. Робота була створена в результаті спІльних досліджень на темициклу та зациклення, фізичних законів природи і світла та внутрішнього світу людини — вона включала дискусії, написання есе, сценарію, імпровізаційних скетчів та оригінальної музики, створеної у взаємодії з танцем.

Про авторів
Гліб Зелгін та Ірина Тичина — незалежні митці, які співпрацюють із 2024 року. Від початку спільної роботи вони розробляють власну методологію під назвою «SŌURCE», досліджуючи вихідну точку руху та способи творення. Робота над CYCLE розпочалася у 2025 році, а прем’єра відбулася в Києві в грудні того ж року.
Гліб Зелгін
Хореограф, режисер, танцівник, артист театральної трупи, куратор і перформер, засновник мистецького об’єднання MŌN, тренер у проєкті «Лабораторія культурних трансформацій» (Goethe-Institut в Україні).
Ірина Тичина
Перформерка, акторка, танцівниця, дослідниця руху та коуч. Її досвід охоплює участь у перформансах, поетичних читаннях, зйомках відеопоезії, а також режисуру та участь у танцювальних фільмах.
