Fertility – Ethno Contemporary Ballet

The dance performance Fertility is based on the exploration of the interplay between the feminine essence and the eternal Earth, delving into the very essence of the concept of “fertility” and the ritualistic nature of this profound interaction. In the play we explore this concept from several angles. The Woman as a symbol of Mother Earth, who gives life to all living things. The Woman, as a being who gives life to a new being in her sacred womb. The Woman as the beginning of all the beginnings.
The creators of this project are Ukrainians, whose history is intricately intertwined with cultivated soil and the ancient cult of bread. In difficult times, associated with lack of means of subsistence, they acutely felt the need and deep significance of grain and bread for survival and they blessed everything that was associated with fertility.
Duration of the performance is 60 minutes.

Ethno Contemporary Ballet, dance company originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine. The company was founded in 2018 by Vadym Yesaulenko and Nina Bulgakova as a private theater and dance group in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Nowadays Ethno Contemporary Ballet located in Helsinki, Finland.
In Ethno Contemporary Ballet theatrical and dance art, it explores the system of symbols, permeated with references to everyday rituals and ceremonial rites, reflecting the deep worldview of peoples, combining authentic music with modern interpretations and images.
Accessibility
The studio Liikelaituri is located at Yliopistonkatu 58 D, 1 krs, 33100 Tampere. Accessible entrance from Pinninkatu at the address Pinninkatu 55 A. At the gate entrance, the door is on the right at 58 D, from where access to the 1st floor is via elevator. Please note that Liikelaituri does not have a lobby or refreshments service. Accessible access to the space can be arranged.

Танцювальна вистава Fertility (Родючість) ґрунтується на дослідженні взаємозв’язку між жіночою сутністю та вічною Землею, заглиблюючись у саму суть поняття «родючість» і ритуальну природу цієї глибокої взаємодії. У виставі ми розглядаємо це поняття з кількох ракурсів: Жінка як символ Матері-Землі, що дарує життя всьому живому; Жінка як та, що дає життя новій істоті у своєму священному лоні; Жінка як початок усіх початків.
Автори проєкту — українці, чия історія тісно переплетена з обробленням землі та давнім культом хліба. У скрутні часи, пов’язані з нестачею засобів до існування, вони гостро відчували потребу в зерні та хлібі й їхнє величезне значення для виживання, а також благословляли все, що було пов’язане з родючістю.
13 листопада у просторі Liikelaituri.
